The Illuminated Word… {September}

The Illuminated Word is a year long project that I am very excited to be a part of. Along with several other photographers, every month each of us will take a part of Scripture that speaks to us, reflect on it, and interpret it with an image. My post is just one of a blog circle, so please continue around the circle and take a look at what the other ladies have done (see link below).

As I was listening to the radio this week (K-Love) I heard someone say “the spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives within us… and that is just mind blowing…”  That thought stuck with me all morning, and when I sat down to do my devotions, the daily scripture was
Romans 5:9-10  9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

The love that caused Christ to die is the same love that sends the Holy Spirit to live in us and guide us every day. The power that raised Christ from the dead is the same power that saved you and is available to you in your daily life. Be assured that, having begun a life with Christ, you have a reserve of power and love to call on each day, for help to meet every challenge or trial. You can pray for God’s power and love as you need it.

It’s there. For me. For us. God’s love freely given… His already present, all-sufficient, love! And we never have to question God’s love for us again.

Since God loves us, He is also there for us. His giving of His Son proves that God will give to us all things that we need (note: NEED, not WANT). And he gives to us abundantly. Can any of us say we do the same? Some days I can’t get my kids to share anything, and yet God was willing to share the ultimate sacrifice for us – his only Son. His love is immeasurable. It’s something I will never be able to grasp here on earth, and I long for the day in Heaven when I can understand and bask in His eternal love 🙂

this photo was taken at Longwood Gardens… it was such a lovely room… a bit of Heaven here on earth perhaps?

 Please continue around our circle to the lovely Jessica Risinger, Lifestyle Photographer and her inspiring post.
