Project: Create {week4}

I’ll be joining my Macro Monday friends again this year for another year long project, but this time? It’ll be for Project: Create. Our goal is to just get out there and be creative. I hope you follow along with this project as we play, stretch, and grow! You’ll find a link to the next photographer in our circle at the end of my post. Enjoy! and may you be inspired to get creative as well!

This week I tried freelensing. Freelensing is a technique used by photographers to achieve results that are sometimes similar to those created with a tilt-shift lens. It is done by using a lens that is handheld in front of the sensor, usually at an angle to skew the focus plane. One big difference I noticed between this and a lens baby (besides the difficulty in focusing while holding your lens infront of your camera 😉  )  is the light leaks. It was a challenge to let the light in at a desirable amount, and not blow out the whole shot. It was  fun, and I was happy with the results… but I hated that the only subjects I had were dead flowers and leaves. I did stalk the cat for a few and bribe Erin to stand still for 5 minutes. I will definitely be trying this again in spring when the flowers and colors are plentiful 🙂

hee hee! that front tooth *needs* to come out!!

Please continue through our circle – next up is the talented Cathy Kuhlman | Cathy Kuhlman Photography – Happy Monday!
